Looking for Second Eight Weeks Classes for Fall 2012??

EPSY 203: Social Issues Group Dialogues
Credit: 1 hours. Second Eight week sections

The EPSY 203 social issues group dialogues are now open for enrollment. If you or students you know are looking for an opportunity to learn more and talk about culturally sensitive topics and issues, these classes are for you. Students can directly enroll in the courses as they normally would.

Each section uses a structured dialogue format to explore intergroup and intragroup differences and similarities within historical and contemporary contexts. Specific focus will be on participants sharing their experiences and perspectives related to the specific dialogue topic. The dialogue format uses active learning exercises in addition to weekly readings, journal assignments, and semi-structured topic based dialogues.

For Fall 2012 we are offering three race/ethnicity dialogues (CRN 55590,52693,55036) one dialogue on being white in a multicultural society (55035), a Conservative liberal dialogue (55592), a women of color dialogue (52697), one Exploring Religious Diversity (52694),  one US International Relations dialogue (52696), two Exploring Social Class dialogues (52691, 52695)

EPSY 220: Career Theory & Practice
Credit: 3 hours. Second Eight week sections

Enrollment is open for several sections of an 8-week career course.  This course is a 3-hour elective and is designed to assist students in learning how to match their interests, values and skills to a major or occupation and to learn important job search skills such as creating cover letters and resumes, and interviewing. There are sections available for all class levels.

ENGL 100: Writing to get that Job!
Credit: 1 hour. Second Eight week online sections

Semester: Fall, 2012 (online-only); Oct 22 thru finals

Course Description
Through conceptual development and context-sensitive lessons/assignments, students will: [1] develop/improve writing skills particularly germane to successfully applying for an internship, a post-baccalaureate job, or an advanced-degree program and [2] apply those skills to create a polished set of recruiter-ready texts relevant to their career plans and a career-relevant, currently-advertised job/internship/program.
NOTE: Attending
regularly-scheduled class meetings is expected of all students because: learning how to successfully apply writing concepts is a skill, and such skills are acquired through ‘enactive’ experiences.
